However, "Special Mint Sets" were issued that featured "Proof Like" specimen coins. These specially struck coins (actually made in far less quantity than proofs of the era) are included here.
Post WWII Proof Coin Production began in 1950 & Continues Through Today.
Proof Coins Are Specially Struck Using Polished Dies
& Coin Blanks.
High Pressure & Double Striking Produces the The Finest Quality & Detail.

Early "Proof" Singles (1950 - 1967) are "Choice to Gem" - Grading PR65 or Higher
Proof Singles (1968 - To Date) are "Gem Proof" - Grading PR67 or Higher
Certified "Perfect" PR69/70 Singles are listed on the "Rare Coins" Page when available
All Select Proof Singles Will Have "Cameo / Frosted" Appearance 1974 to Date
