Between 1950 & 1955, Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in a plain box with the coins individually wraped in "cello" holders. These are refered to as "Box Sets". In 1955 Proof sets came in both "Boxed" and "Flat Pack" Packaging. Many of these early issues have been damaged over the years. We have selected only high quality, problem free sets for inclusion here.

Between 1955 & 1964, Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in an envelope & sealed "cello" holders. These are refered to as "Flat Packs". In 1955 Proof sets came in both "Boxed" and "Flat Pack" Packaging. Many of these early issues have been damaged over the years. We have selected only high quality, problem free sets for inclusion here.

NOTE; "Proof" Coin Sets were Not issued 1965-67.
However, "Special Mint Sets" were issued that featured "Proof Like" specimen coins. These specially struck coins (actually made in far less quantity than proofs of the era) are collected as both Proof & Mint sets.

Silver Black Boxed Issues

Between 1968 & 1972, Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in a Blue Box & sealed plastic "Lens". 1968 thru 1970 Sets contain a 40% Silver Half Dollar.

A True Rarity, The 1970 "Small Date" set features a Lincoln Cent with a slightly different style date. The 7 in the date sits high (even with the top of the "0") and is somewhat smaller in height than on the regular issues.

Between 1973 & 1978, Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in a Black Box & sealed plastic "Lens" that featured a swing out base that served as an "Easel" type stand. These sets have become hard to find with un-broken henges, & nice original boxes. Spotting on the cent is also a big issue with these sets & finding nice ones is getting a lot harder than the price indicates.

The "Susie" Dollar Years

1979, Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in the same manor as the 1973-8 sets. 1980 thru 1982 sets were issued in a slightly smaller format with a slide out base. 1979 Type 2 sets feature All 6 Coins with "Clear S" mint marks. 1982 sets include a Treasury Department "Medalion" in place of the Dollar Coin.

The Purple Sets

1984 - 1993 Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in Purple Boxes & with Purple Lens inserts. Otherwise they appear similar in size & content to the 1968 - 1972 issues. 1986 marks the first year that COA's began to accompany the Mints anual issues.

The Green Sets

1994 - 1998 Proof Coins came from the mint packaged in Green Boxes & with Green Lens inserts. Otherwise they appear similar in size & content to the 1983 - 1993 issues. These Sets include Some of Lowest Mintages of the entire 1968 to Date series.

1983 sets were issued in blue boxes and appear similar to the 1968 - 1972 issues.

Contains 1 set frome each year 1968 thru 1998 all in their original "as Issued" goverment sealed holders & boxes.
