How & Why Spikes makes this offer possible
Two reasons. Visibility & We want to help out worthwhile causes.
Like many others in our field, we are constantly approached to donate items for charities. Donating one or two items might help out to generate a few dollars, but frankly we can only donate so much. We found out several years ago that we can help create huge proceeds for our favorite charities by supplying items “at cost”. Proceeds from this program now generate over $100,000 annually for local charity organizations. This increased public visibility has also benifitted our retail sales making a win win situation for everyone!
How to obtain items from Spikes - Step by Step:
1. Visit our store or make contact with us via telephone or e-mail 2 - 4 weeks prior to your event. Make sure you have your tax exempt ID information & pertinent billing / contact information available.
2. Let us know the size & type of event: live or silent auction, raffle, etc. Give us an idea of the quantity and types of items you desire. We are very flexible & will work with you to pick items from our large inventory to fill your individual needs.
3. Pick up your items at Spikes 1 - 7 days prior to the event. All items will come with a detailed invoice description and the amount you will pay for each item if it sells.
4. We suggest you start the bidding for an item at 10% above the invoice amount. All proceeds above the invoiced amount are yours to keep regardless of how high the final selling price is. For example, if the invoice amount is $100, start the bidding at $110.00. If this item sells for $300, you keep $200.00!
5. Return any unsold items within 5 days after the event. Payment for sold items is due within 7 days following the event. Remember, the total amount due is the invoiced amount (less any returned items). You never pay any commissions or percentage fees.
6. You’re Done!

FUNDRAISERS
As many charities have discovered, having an Auction at your event is an excellent way to raise those much needed funds. However, obtaining donated items for these events can be troublesome at best and often is quite limited
